Pilot Airlifted After Banner Plane Crashes In South Jersey: Police

A banner plane pilot was airlifted to a South Jersey hospital after crashing near a Gloucester County airport, authorities said.

On Thursday, Sept. 14, at 4:14 p.m., Monroe Township police responded to Cross Keys Airport for an aircraft accident. 

A single-engine Cessna 150G banner plane crashed in the wooded area west of the airport while attempting to lift a banner, Monrow Township police said. 

The pilot, a 62-year-old male, was the only occupant. His name was not released.

He was airlifted to Cooper Hospital. 

The Federal Aviation Administration was on scene and no additional details were released.

Numerous local, county and state emergency management and fire resources responded and the area was closed off to the public.
